Activity Supervisors & Evaluations
Activity Supervisors
Every activity that students include in their programs MUST have an adult supervisor. The following individuals could be potential supervisors:
For Supervisors: Please read this section and this section as well if you are unsure of what is an appropriate CAS activity.
Responsibilities of a CAS Activity Supervisor:
- School Faculty or Administrator
- Club Moderators, Team Coaches
- Any capable adult who is not an immediate family member

Responsibilities of a CAS Activity Supervisor:
- To support the student in meeting the criteria for proposing and planning a valid CAS activity. If you feel that the activity does not meet the CAS requirements, or that the student is unsuitable for your activity, please let the Coordinator know as soon as possible so that an alternative can be found.
- To monitor student's attendance by regularly signing off on the student's Activity Log.
- To read the student's Self-evaluation Essay. (Please follow up on the final essay if you do not see it a week after the completion of the activity.)
- To evaluate the student's performance and provide comments via the Supervisor Evaluation Form.
- To communicate to the CAS coordinator any problems that may arise with the student's involvement in, or commitment to, the CAS activity.
Evaluations
At the end of every activity, a supervisor's evaluation is required before credit can be given for the work done. Students' performance will be evaluated by the activity supervisor based on the following criteria:
Students must share their Final Reflection/Self-Evaluation for the activity with the respective supervisor BEFORE an evaluation is written for them. They have a maximum of two weeks from the end of the activity to produce their Final Reflections and get it to their supervisors.
- Attendance & Punctuality (How consistent was the student in attending all sessions and meetings for this activity? On being on time?)
- Effort & Commitment (How sincere was the effort exhibited by our student in fulfilling the necessary tasks for this activity? Was he/she genuinely committed to making the activity as successful as it could be?)
- Diligence (How consistent was our student in fulfilling his/her obligations for the activity?)
- Initiative (How self-motivated was our student in terms of performing necessary tasks or having necessary conversations /consultations for this activity without need for your prompting?)
- Organization (How would you rate the overall quality of preparation, planning, and collaborative involvement -- if applicable --that our student exhibited in this activity?)
